Crossmen Hall of Fame - Denise Golden

Denise Golden has probably logged more hours in service to the Crossmen than any other single individual.  Starting as a member of the color guard in 1975, she immediately began working behind the scenes in 1976 as a member of the administrative team.  For eighteen consecutive seasons thereafter, she was there -- the backbone of the Crossmen volunteer force. Whether it was helping to prepare meals for the corps on the chuck wagon, to designing and selling the corps souvenirs, to sewing flags and uniforms, to assisting the corps financially when times were tough, to serving on the corps' Board of Directors, to helping the corps get down the road as Assistant Director, Denise was always willing to give her best to see to it that the Crossmen were well taken care of.

A tireless worker, her efforts were rewarded in 1990 when DCI fittingly named her Volunteer of the Year.  The most important things Denise contributed were her friendly smile, her shoulder to cry on, and the genuine enthusiasm and love she had for the corps.  Her passion and dedication have always been an inspiration to the countless number of Crossmen members who know and love her.  She knew every member's name, she was always there to cheer the corps as they entered and left the field, and her heart will forever be filled with love for the Crossmen.
