Jack Eberhart

Jack’s association with the Crossmen began in 1988 when he volunteered to drive the kitchen truck for the last two weeks of the season. He continued as a driver of various vehicles for part of 10 more seasons, as recently as 2012. In 1989, Jack was appointed to the Crossmen Board of Directors. His first accomplishment was revising the corps’ by-laws. In 1990, Jack was elected Vice President of the Board and from 1991 to the Fall of 1993, Jack served as President of the board. Under Jack’s leadership the board was able to reduce the Corps’ substantial debt. Meanwhile on the field, the Crossmen had some of their most successful seasons to date.
When Jack retired from his position as Dean of the College of Health Sciences at West Chester University, he decided to spend the winter months in a place called Canyon Lake, Texas. Several years later, the Crossmen would make their new home less than 20 miles away. The irony was not lost on Fred Morrison when one day Jack called and introduced himself. According to Fred, it was one of the fortuitous meetings that he had in the early years after the move. Jack became a cherished mentor to Fred from that point on. As a volunteer driver, kitchen and souvenir helper, Board member and leader, and financial supporter of the Crossmen, Jack Eberhart is a selfless and generous individual who helps keep the Crossmen on the road every year.
