Rico Gomez

Picture
Rico Gomez epitomizes the Crossmen spirit. He has marched, has taught and was an administrator with the corps until 2019. Rico marched cymbals in 2007 and 2008. Upon aging out, he moved immediately into teaching the corps. Rico brought his Crossmen experience and Crossmen culture directly to the next class of Bones’ cymbals.

In 2009, the corps needed Rico to expand his involvement and he began working on the admin team. He has been a critical element of the corps’ success ever since. Rico began working full time for the Crossmen in 2012, progressing to tour director and was named Director of Operations in 2019.  He executed the tough job of tour director with quiet determination and excellence. Rico has set the standard for “getting the job done”. Never complaining or seeking glory, his passion is... the success of the corps. When you think of what it means to be a Crossmen, Rico fits all the requirements. Rico has given back to this corps in so many ways, making him a true inspiration to members, staff and volunteers. Rico handles all issues in a calm and decisive manner regardless of what time it is, how tired he is, or if it should be someone’s else’s job. Over the past ten years, Rico has consistently taken on more responsibility. He does this quietly and with growing efficiency. He is an invaluable asset to the Crossmen organization.

Rico Gomez is the first Crossmen alumni from Texas to be inducted into the Crossmen Hall of Fame. Rico has given his entire being to this drum corps for the past 13 years.
