Allison Martinez
2021
Induction:
Allison Martinez’s induction into the Crossmen Hall of Fame recognizes her dedicated service to the corps as an administrator, souvenir manager, tour supporter, ambassador, and beloved member of the Crossmen family.
Allison began serving the Crossmen on the administrative staff in 2006, stepping into the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a drum corps functioning on the road. From 2007 through 2009, she served as co-manager of the souvenir operation, and in 2010 and 2011 she continued as a member of the souvenir staff. Across those years, Allison became an important part of the corps’ touring support system and alumni outreach.
Each summer, Allison helped take the souvenir operation across the country, traveling an estimated 12,000 to 15,000 miles per season and eventually reaching nearly all of the 48 contiguous states. Life on the souvie trail required stamina, organization, customer service, financial responsibility, and constant flexibility. Allison brought all of that to the role, helping the operation generate hundreds of thousands of dollars for the corps during her tenure.
Allison helped make the Crossmen souvenir booth more than a place to buy merchandise. She helped make it a home base. For alumni, it was a place to gather, reconnect, share stories, and receive updates from the road. For parents, it was a trusted stop where they could ask questions, send messages, or pass along packages to their children. For fans and potential members, it was a welcoming introduction to the corps’ history, traditions, and spirit.
Allison graciously answered questions about the Crossmen and helped people understand what made the organization special. She shared the corps’ culture with pride and helped everyone who stopped by feel valued. Whether speaking with a longtime alumnus, a nervous rookie, a parent missing their child, or a fan discovering the corps for the first time, Allison represented the Crossmen with warmth and care.
Her presence on tour was consistently helpful, welcoming, and uplifting. Allison had a way of recognizing people’s accomplishments both on and off the field, making others feel seen and appreciated. Whether celebrating someone’s special event with a cake or offering a kind word during a long summer day, she contributed to the sense of family that makes the Crossmen experience so meaningful.
And while there may not be an official Hall of Fame category for animals, Spike certainly deserves an honorable mention as part of the souvie team’s story and the memories so many people associate with those years.
Allison’s contributions helped support the corps financially, strengthened connections with alumni and families, and created a welcoming presence around the Crossmen throughout the summer tour.
For her service on the administrative and souvenir staffs, her leadership in the souvenir operation, her role in generating vital support for the corps, her care for members and families, and her commitment to making everyone feel part of the Crossmen family, we proudly honor Allison Martinez as a member of the Crossmen Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
