Denita Hamant Stemet

Denita Hamant Stemmet’s induction into the Crossmen Hall of Fame recognizes her long-standing dedication to the corps as an alumna, volunteer, alumni leader, supporter, organizer, and devoted member of the Crossmen family.

Denita marched with the Crossmen during the 1982 and 1983 seasons, becoming part of an era that helped carry the corps forward through the early 1980s. Like so many who wore the uniform, her connection to the Crossmen did not end when her time on the field was complete. Instead, Denita continued to give back to the organization and to the alumni community in meaningful and lasting ways.

Over the years, Denita has remained a steady and committed supporter of the Crossmen. As a longtime volunteer, she has given her time, energy, and care to help strengthen the corps and the alumni experience. Her continued involvement reflects the lifelong bond that so many members feel after marching — a belief that once you are part of the Crossmen family, you remain connected forever.

Denita is a Lifetime Crossmen Alumni Association member and a Club Unity member, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to supporting the corps, its members, and its alumni programs. Her generosity and participation have helped sustain the work of the Alumni Association and ensure that generations of Crossmen remain connected to one another and to the organization they love.

In 2020, Denita was an integral contributor to Crossmen LIVE, lending her time and effort to an important alumni-driven initiative that helped bring the Crossmen community together. Her work reflected her willingness to step forward when needed, contribute behind the scenes, and support efforts that celebrate the corps’ history while strengthening its future.

Most recently, Denita served as Co-Coordinator of the 2024 Crossmen Alumni Corps, helping lead one of the most meaningful alumni efforts in the corps’ modern history. In that role, she helped organize, support, and bring together alumni from across decades of Crossmen history. Her leadership helped create an opportunity for former members to reconnect, perform, celebrate the corps’ legacy, and once again experience the family, pride, and spirit of Bones.

Denita’s Crossmen story is one of continued commitment. She marched, stayed connected, supported the Alumni Association, helped build major alumni events, and stepped into leadership when the organization needed her. Her service reflects the quiet but essential work that keeps alumni engaged and traditions alive.

For her years as a marching member, her longtime volunteer service, her support as a Lifetime CAA member and Club Unity member, her contributions to Crossmen LIVE, her leadership with the 2024 Alumni Corps, and her enduring commitment to the Crossmen family, we proudly honor Denita Hamant Stemmet as a member of the Crossmen Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
