Taylor Jenkins
2021
Induction:
Taylor Jenkins’s induction into the Crossmen Hall of Fame recognizes his years of dedication to the corps as a marching member, visual staff member, administrator, volunteer driver, souvenir manager, and ambassador for the Crossmen family.
Taylor marched with the Crossmen for five seasons, performing on euphonium from 1998 through 2000 and on baritone in 2001 and 2002, his age-out year. As a member, Taylor experienced some of the most memorable years of the corps’ early 2000s era and carried that love for the Crossmen forward long after his marching career ended.
In 2005, Taylor returned to the corps as a member of the visual staff, giving back as an instructor and helping guide the next generation of performers. In 2006, he expanded his service even further, working on the administrative staff and serving as a volunteer driver. His willingness to take on whatever role the corps needed reflected the kind of loyalty and work ethic that has always defined the Crossmen spirit.
From 2007 through 2011, Taylor served as co-manager of the souvenir operation. Each summer, he helped drive the souvenir rig thousands of miles across the country, eventually visiting nearly all of the 48 contiguous states. That work was demanding, exhausting, and essential. Through consistent effort on the road, Taylor helped generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue for the corps.
Taylor helped turn souvenir sales into more than a financial operation. The souvie booth became a place of connection. He answered questions from fans, parents, potential rookies, and alumni, sharing Crossmen history, traditions, and insight into what life on tour was really like. He understood that the booth was often the first personal point of contact many people had with the corps, and he treated that responsibility with pride.
For parents, Taylor was a trusted connection to their members. He carried messages and packages without hesitation, never treating those requests as an inconvenience. For alumni, he helped make the souvie booth a welcoming gathering place where people could reconnect, hear updates, and feel part of the Crossmen family no matter how many years had passed.
Taylor’s service was marked by warmth, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others feel welcome. He brought energy, humor, and care to long days on tour, and his work helped support both the financial health and community spirit of the organization.
For his years as a marching member, his service on visual and administrative staff, his work as a volunteer driver and souvenir manager, his role in generating vital support for the corps, and his lasting commitment to sharing the Crossmen spirit with members, parents, alumni, and fans, we proudly honor Taylor Jenkins as a member of the Crossmen Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
